The limited edition of the Courts of the Shadow Fey features signed, metallic endpapers, ribbon bookmark, and a foil-stamped leatherette cover with a distinctive spine and title treatment. The interior presents the 148-page adventure in all its glory, and for those who want an exclusive edition, this is the edition with a little extra moonlit steel in its construction and a bit more fey magic in its embellishments. All hail the Queen of Night!

Intrigue & Adventure in the Shadow Realm!

A 5th Edition planar adventure for 7th- to 10th-level characters

The Free City of Zobeck has thrived since overthrowing the tyrannical Stross family. But an ancient bargain gives the Queen of Night and Magic a claim to the city—and now the shadow fey have seized Zobeck as their own. The city’s only hope lies with a band of heroes who can outfight and outwit the shadow fey in the heart of their own realm: the maze of treachery and deceit that is the Courts of the Shadow Fey.

This 5th Edition adventure takes you from the mortal world to the heart of Shadow, where you’ll:

  • Fight your way through the dangers of the Shadow Realm to reach the shadow fey’s courts
  • Engage in dangerous courtly intrigue, trying to increase your status to win an audience with the Queen herself
  • Duel for honor, and perhaps win the hand of a lover among the fey nobility

Can you free Zobeck from the grasp of the shadow fey? Or will your fate become a tale told in hushed tones as a warning against angering the Queen?

In the streets near the Bazaar at a small but infamous crocodile souk called the Souk of False Smiles, a notorious chef with the unlikely noble name of Qadi Hafeez-i-Burhan has stated that he will pay handsomely for a blonde-haired pig known to be at large. Rumor has it he hosts strange dining events to curry favor with certain well-connected individuals with particular—some would say revolting—tastes.

Known as the “Feaster” by locals, Hafeez has instructed that those with any information on the pig bring that information to his smiling partner, the terribly-tempered werecrocodile Aibtisamat. The Feaster believes the pig to be a magically-transformed princess, something that would command a very high price on certain menus…

This adventure for the 5th Edition of the world’s first RPG is meant for four 3rd-level characters. Designed by Richard Pett, it features cartography by Dyson Logos and art by Phil Stone.

In years past, the Bell family was acclaimed across the Magocracy of Allain for their facility at alchemy and the transmutation of mundane beasts into magical beasts and hybrids. The most recent Lord of the Keep, Victoir Bell, is known more for his drunken proclamations of arcane greatness than for any facility with municipal management. Despite this, the people of Belcassel love him and look forward to his erratic displays of illusion and evocation at feast times. His son and daughter, have used materials from the Bell family library to experiment on the local fauna, creating a dangerous number of magical creatures.

Upon discovering his children’s actions, Lord Bell confronted them in a liquor-fuelled rage. He was promptly killed and partially eaten by one of their experiments, a startled griffon, which subsequently escaped into the nearby farmland. Now, the creature’s rampage through Belcassel’s farmlands threatens to disrupt the Bell children’s plans, making them desperate to get matters under control before their father’s death is discovered…

Warlock Lair 34: Sunken Library of Quezzit Qire

Qezzit Qire, an elf scholar who valued his privacy, built a library in the marshes. It was the subject of considerable derision—it stood in the shadow of the Great Library of Friula, and the damp location seemed antithetical to maintaining books. It enraged the library’s head administrator, who schemed to end the rival library’s existence. Rumors about forbidden and vile tomes sequestered in the elf’s library spread quickly. The reclusive elf never refuted the rumors, and, eventually, an armed mob marched toward the library to burn it down.

Faced with the threat of losing everything he had procured and despairing at the impact to his studies, Qezzit performed a ritual to consign himself and the librarians into undeath and sink the library. Hidden by magic, the library remained untouched, as many figured all its books had been destroyed by the explosion or the swamp’s muck, and its existence passed into the realm of myth.

Thus, it was a surprise when a Floating Roads work crew from Tolmezo uncovered the top of the library, which slowly rose to the surface. The work crew discovered the library was sealed against the ravages of the swamp and impenetrable to them. They had little time to attempt to gain access, as a rampaging hydra devoured all but one crewmember, who escaped to Tolmezo to report on the library and the attack.

Perhaps a more heavily-armed party will have better luck in investigating the place?

Doom Has Come to Stormhold!

A rotting wind has blighted the capital city of the Empire of the Iron Falcon, followed by an invasion force of long-dead warriors. Before the undead phalanxes tore down the Tower of Triumph, the Council of Six divined that the source of the siege was the Necropolis of the Mailed Fist.

For thirteen generations, the Empire interred its sacred dead and mythic relics in the Necropolis. But the sins of the First Emperor have finally brought down hellish retribution, and now something unimaginably old and evil dwells within. Can you defeat it before all is lost?

Necropolis of the Mailed Fist is a punishing one-session tournament dungeon designed for four 8th‑level 5th Edition characters. Monsters and constructs guarding the Necropolis can overwhelm the careless or unwary. The traps and hazards protecting its relics can slay an adventurer who makes a single misstep. Curses are everywhere, along with dangers that can destroy magic items!

Put your affairs in order before you depart, heroes. Soon, your remains may join the sacred dead in the Necropolis of the Mailed Fist.

Necropolis of the Mailed Fist is an adventure for 8th‑level characters and is fully compatible with the 5th Edition of the world’s first roleplaying game.

On their way, they hear news of travelers being attacked by unnatural animal hybrids and of a young woman traveling alone with a small, deformed child wearing ill-fitting robes.

A group of vile gnomish cultists and infernal centaurs tested their might against the centaur tribes. They discovered they could pick off stragglers without much resistance, but they were overmatched by centaur tribes. Seeing the need for greater numbers and reasoning that they were only a few tweaks away from perfecting the ritual, the gnomes decided to enact a ritual on the unwitting. As fortune would have it, they found an abandoned complex just south of the Wormwood from which they could kidnap and transform victims.

The gnomes decided their failed attempts at ritually creating centaurs could serve the secondary purpose of promoting some mayhem, where they could foment dissent between centaurs and humans. Thus, on a recent morning, a farmer in the village of Rosedale made a gruesome discovery when he went to feed his horses: a corpse stitched together from a man’s torso and a headless horse…. Surely someone should investigate this?
